Top Notch Thursday & Interview

This week more than ever, I was itching to make moves on my musical career path. I don't talk much about it because I'm developing but aside from singing in church I am taking steps to grow myself as a songwriter. My step one has been to get my material off of paper and into a track. It's been about one month since I liked up with dafingaz and I was getting kind of restless. This morning we got together for our usual studio pow wow and I am even more excited that I am starting this process. Although I can't release anything just yet, be on the look out for more. Let's just say "I'll Do Better" and "I Won't Change A Thing About You" In other news, I completed an interview a few hours ago. I feel like things are on the up and up. I have a question for you fam. Would you take a good opportunity now or wait for an even better opportunity you know you were going to have in the near future? Would you take a definite 50 G's now or a pote

Monday morning, after receiving a fresh attitude with an admin in one of the staff offices, I got a kind invite to hear President Obama speak . He visited NVCC's Annandale campus to talk about the 2013 Budget and where community colleges fit into that. I got some pretty good pics and a brief video of the event. I'm so glad I got to be a part of that moment. The dude is good at what he does. This was a great start to a Monday morning.

I Got It

I got the interview. Tomorrow @ 1pm. Now I'm fighting trying to figure out how I will prepare.

The Deuces

WBL Inc. is back at it again. What you might ask? Nothing, I just thought that was a good way to introduce this post. I'm going out on a limb this time around and deciding to give back in a way that is a little extra for me. I work with students all the time, so you'd think I'd be tired of being a mentor-type figure. Not exactly. I decided to work with a couple of youth with Words, Beats, & Life as a college materials coach. I meet with my mentees, Ron aka Kid Havoc and Naasir Ali once a week and help them accomplish a goal. Both of them are aspiring b-boys, which I know nothing about except the fact that I dig the culture. I'm in this thang trying to figure out what I'm doing, but the guys have some great personalities. We had our second official meeting/ third meeting today and we recorded some introduction videos for their artistic portfolio. I must say that it really brought my spirit up to interact with them. Honestly! Me meeting with them is as much

Sister got married: I have no pants

Image
My sister got married last weekend and I went a whole day without any pants. It was one of those night where you have such a good time that you're not thinking about all the details except "How can I make it home safe even though I'm tipsy." My cousin had my car earlier so I put all my stuff in another groomsman's car. When it came time to leave I remembered everything except my pants. I finally get to the hotel to change out of the tux and realize that I had no pants. I wasn't going back to DC until later the next day since I decided to party it up with my cousins that night. So I wore the tuxedo pants for the rest of the night on into the next day. This was the one time that I ever wore a combination that did not go together. Oh well! I didn't get a set of pants until 4p.m. the next day. I'm sooooooo proud of my sister and her husband. I almost cried but I wasn't going to let everyone see that. Come on. What do I look like? I've been in
