#10 Is A No Show

I made it through the model call. I got picked by the designers. I even got picked for a show in the future but for tonight's DC Fashion Week Menswear Show I am a no show. I definitely didn't want things to pan out this way and I could have taken more responsibility to prevent it but time and inconvenience caught up with me. A bad tire, a pressure unit gone bad, and bad planning left me hanging. Next time I'll make sure to take note of the warning signs, seeing as how not being attentive has caused me to miss a great moment. Oh well. I'm over it now. What's next.

I Used to Be So Nice

I got caught up looking at old episodes of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. My dose of ignorance used to be Flavor of Love but now we have more reality shows that have taken the wheel of ignorance to levels unknown to man. I should be at Tabaq Bistro for the fashion industry networking party since I am modeling for DC Fashion Week this week. I got my people ready to go out but this morning I was not feeling it. This has been a very busy week since I've been preparing for the new courses I'll be teaching the second half of the semester. I have a second job. I've been doing background work for a studio project. All around I'm busy and gas is $3.15, but most importantly, I just don't feel like networking anymore. I don't know what it is when it comes to the fashion industry. I love being featured in shows but when it comes to interacting with other models I don't know who is after what. I actually take that view on a lot of things lately. I meet new people

Life and Times of Professor Curry: You're Failing

Today, I let my class out early to work on their up coming persuasive speeches. Recall a previous blog about being a black teacher and being drawn to the black students. I'm searching for the words to say about this guy and all I can do is speak from what I observe. He gives no effort at all. Yeah, I know, I can say that his way of giving effort is different than mine and I can ramp on about how I can change my teaching methods to suit him. Or maybe I can do things to make class more fun. Bump that. Here is what I see. He got the highest grade on the exam. Now that we've moved into the public speaking portion of the class all I seem to be getting are excuses. No his speaking skills aren't the greatest. It's actually annoying to hear him speak but the problem I am having is that he is not giving any effort. Out of 16 students that have to give impromptu speeches as a part of the class, he is the only that has started a speech, stops to blurt out " Man . . uh

What's going on family? It's February already. Like any normal person I get so consumed by the pace of life that I haven't kept everyone up to date. Forgive me. Here's what is going down. U.N.I. updates: Fresh back from the Stellar Awards our team made business connections with Kingdom Swag . This is a great opportunity for both our teams because we get to take the lead on the fashion front and the KS team has a network of artists in which to build relationships to expand our brand. I'm not sure how much info I can release but expect to see some big things in April taking place in Atlanta. Also Mr. U.N.I has been working with Iz-Real of Everyday Process to design a shirt to go along with his Loser Mixtape. Take a look at what we have. Since we are on the subject, peep U.N.I's online boutique to take a look at our past collection and make a purchase if interested. Oscah: The MADSOUL mixtape Vol. 1 is going strong if you haven't peeped it get it in time fo
