U.N.I Living the Dream

I remember years ago when I was up late with Brian Americus talking about U.N.I. We talked about having Christian artists rocking our clothes on TV. Here we are years later and look what God did. Big up to William "The Ambassador" Branch for showing support and rocking the U.N. Eye design. This is a pretty heavy interview because he and his wife went through a critical struggle in their marriage. I don't want to take away the focus of how God has restored them but I'm glad that some good came out of it--for them and for the U.N.I brand. #BOOM



Also Mr. 129 himself--Royalty just released the video for his next single Gotta Get It featuring Chris Ray. A few weeks ago I showed you all some footage but here is the final product. Look at this cat rocking the U.N.I Good Wood piece. Also look for a Cameo from Brian Americus!

Catch Up

NYLF set me off course because all my days just seemed to run together. It's been over for about a week and a lot has happened since then. First I must send a big shout out to all the staff that I worked with. Our program coordinators spoiled the staff with a big cook out stocked with all the food and sangria you could enjoy as well as a talent portion, in which I knocked their socks off with a rendition of Boyz II Men's How Do I Say Goodbye . White Stole The Show

Breaking news last week was that Zeta Tau Alpha won the Sprite Step Off Competition receiving $100,000 to donate to scholarships for the chapter. After winning it was made public that after a scoring discrepancy between the first and second place winners has been identified the second place winners, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, would recieve the same amount. I'm blown by the controversy around it. I took some time and looked at the videos of each contestant that made it to the final round and to me it is clear why ZTA won. Those white girls stepped they tail off and represented from start to finish. Mind you, the video I linked you all to does not show full performances for the other frats but yo them chicks brought it. I don't read news stories as much as I do the comments. It is good to see those that agree with me but it's shocking how ignorant some people are. Of course the majority of the comments had to deal with race. The Death of Nick Charles

This is my first post of 2013! This isn't really the post that I want to start the year off with so let's play catch up. For New Years I went to church, shot my first gun and drank champagne with my cousins. I was pretty excited to get back to work for the Spring semester. One reason being because each semester serves as a fresh start. Another reason being because I had a class that wouldn't start until February, so my load this time around is much lighter. I enrolled into an acting class. Our first assignment, and the reason for this post, is to pick a poem that could be delivered in a minimum of 2 minutes in length. I don't follow poetry too much so I chose the first long poem in Black Voices. It's called The Death of Nick Charles by Everett LeRoi Jones, who I later found out is Amiri Baraka.
