I want to take an acting class. My goal for the spring is to do so. I figure, I might as well tap into my professional development funds and take advantage of the opportunity.  I think it will boost my teaching and help me be more artistic. It will also be good because I can connect my role as a speech teacher to the theater, which I'm excited about. I'm going to do it. As always so much has happened since my last post. D. I, like so many non engaged Americans need to WAKE UP.  Another election season is upon us and it's time to be an informed voter and exercise the right that so many of those before us have fought for. I'm not going to get on my soap box concerning the election because to be honest, until the conventions I've been laboring in my own world of education and grading and not paying a lick of attention to anything that has been taking place.  To be honest, facebook and twitter have kept me up to date more than me reading and searching for information myself. Did any of you hear about the CNN cameraperson , who happened to be a black woman, that got peanuts thrown at her during the Republic National Convention?  What's worst is that CNN didn't make too many comments on it and almost tried to sweep it under the rug. Maybe not that exact phrasing, but a new station that has been so liberal in its views on civil rights and inclusion spoke very little when it came to the wel...

I shouldn't go too long without blogging because when I finally get back around to it, I'm so cluttered with all the things that I haven't said that my words come out as jumbled as my thoughts. I appreciate those friends that even though I have not seen them in ages or spoken to them frequently, it's still like we are able to pick up where we left off without the awkwardness of wondering what I should and should not say. I'm going to try that with you all. Some pretty big things happened this summer but it wasn't as fun as I hoped. I made more money than I have before. Got to connect with students in a powerful way. JudahLYFE appeared as a guest on Bobby Jones Gospel, which is a show that is televised nationally. I started my first full-time job with benefits. Sound amazing huh?
