 Am I back? Or am I back?  So, I created a wordpress site about 6, yes 6 years ago. So before I even get to that I realize a few things. Well actually one main thing, which is that I have become so radically intellectualized.  I was recently on the phone with my former graduate advisor ramping on about how insane the world is, how our country's failure to address and redress the racism embedded in each system plays out in the academy, in church, in the media and across so many institutions.  I can go on about these thing and I don't believe I left much room for him to add anything but and he said something affirming but also profound.  He said that I sound like an academic. Before I go on to pull this notion a part, I must admit that I am doing so in the midst of watching an almost 3 year old until my wife gets home. I have so many thoughts on my head because of my advisor's statement and it's further complicated by the natural interruptions, but here goes....

Since my last post life has taken over.  Life has taken over ever since I moved from DC to Boston. Ever since I started this blog, one of the things that I kept saying was how it has always been so long since my last post. This moment right here is the most extreme it has been since my last post. All I can do is remark upon it. My wife and I went to Aruba two weekends ago to celebrate another friend's wedding. It was our first destination wedding.  Aside from the trip back being a nightmare, the wedding was once again a reminder about how life transitions change you.  A move to a new city changes you and can change your circle of friends.  Marriage changes your circle of friends. Kids will definitely change your circle of friends.  I'm at that place in my life where I am more than ever accepting the changes in relationship that come as life moves on.  You will really see which friendships stand the test of time. You will really see the ones worth investin...
